Our solutions focus on low latency, zero packet loss, and unmatched scalability, enabling seamless experiences for millions of users worldwide. With dedicated support, bespoke solutions, and cutting-edge technology, we deliver reliable, cost-efficient infrastructure that empowers game developers and businesses to scale effortlessly. Partnering with major names like Nvidia, DuckDuckGo, Discord, and Ubisoft, we are shaping the future of gaming and network technology.
As a Senior Platform Engineer (Kubernetes), you will be crucial in designing, implementing, and maintaining our on-prem platform infrastructure, with a primary focus on our private cloud, particularly Kubernetes orchestration and containerization. While Kubernetes will be a key area of focus, you will also work across various middleware and infrastructure technologies. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to enhance our platform’s reliability, scalability, and overall user experience, driving innovation and best practices in the platform engineering domain.
You will support and help lead the architectural design and implementation of our internal Kubernetes cluster (IKS - i3D Kubernetes Service), which we currently use internally and plan to offer to external customers in the future. It’s important to think about the product in a way that makes sure our solutions not only work for today but can also scale and evolve as we grow.
Design and Build Platform Features: You’ll develop new platform features, making sure they’re scalable, reliable, and work smoothly across middleware components like Kubernetes. You’ll also play a big part in shaping and building out our internal Kubernetes cluster (IKS).
Automate and Optimize Infrastructure: You’ll automate the setup and management of infrastructure, improving the performance and efficiency of systems like databases, web servers, and message queues.
CI/CD Pipeline Development: You’ll create and maintain CI/CD pipelines that help keep our development process smooth and efficient, enabling continuous integration and delivery across different environments.
Monitor and Log Platform Health: You’ll implement and manage monitoring and logging solutions to make sure everything’s running smoothly, using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and others.
Collaborate on Platform Strategy: You’ll work closely with other teams to make sure the platform engineering strategies align with business goals and the overall product roadmap.
Ensure Security and Compliance: You’ll put security best practices into action and ensure that we meet all relevant standards and regulations to keep our platform safe and sound.
Promote DevOps and GitOps Practices: You’ll advocate for DevOps and GitOps practices, helping create a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across the team.
Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: You’ll mentor junior engineers and share your knowledge with the team, encouraging best practices and a focus on learning and growth.
At i3D.net, you’ll work with:
Languages: Golang (primary), PHP (legacy), .NET
Infrastructure & Tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, GitLab pipelines, OpenSearch
Databases: MariaDB
Practices: Test-Driven Development (TDD), CI/CD pipelines, Agile methodologies—we follow a "you build it, you deploy it, you support it" philosophy
You’ve made our Kubernetes cluster, and platform features more reliable, efficient, and scalable.
You’ve automated tasks and streamlined systems to reduce overhead.
You’ve contributed to the platform’s direction and future roadmap.
You’ve put security first with solid measures that meet industry standards.
You’ve mentored junior engineers and helped build a more collaborative team.
Kubernetes Expertise: Direct experience running and maintaining self-hosted Kubernetes clusters, including upgrades, scaling, troubleshooting, and working on cluster networking and control plane components. Experience with on-prem or bare metal environments (for example, Talos or other container-optimized operating systems) is a big plus.
Networking Solutions: Proficient in Kubernetes networking, using tools like Cilium or Calico, with a focus on security and policy management.
GitOps Experience: Hands-on experience with GitOps workflows, particularly with Argo CD for automated delivery.
CI/CD Knowledge: Familiar with GitLab CI/CD or similar platforms for building and deploying containerized workloads.
Security and Compliance: Strong understanding of security best practices and compliance in on-prem environments.
Collaboration & Mentorship: Passion for working in teams, sharing knowledge, and helping others grow.

Low latency is our mission! In 2002 we set out to improve online experiences for gamers. Today, we translate our hosting innovations to various industries, but gaming is still in our DNA. And as of 2019, we are part of the Ubisoft family! We build out our network presence in data centers across the globe – from Madrid to Mumbai, Amsterdam to Seattle, and everything in between – bringing content closer to the users.
Our team works hard on everything related to running our privately owned premium network, from opening new points-of-presence, setting up peering relationships, developing integral products like anti-DDoS protection, and serving our customers with expert help and advice. Finally, we play even harder, in our office gym and bar, and with our lifetime access to Ubisoft games.
