Product Owner — Game Services

Want to help millions of gamers play online? Join our team as Product Owner and be part of the team pioneering hosting for indie to AAA game developers.

About the Job

Who we are

We are a leading provider of high-performance, low-latency hosting through a vast privately-owned global network. We have been serving industry giants for the past 20 years: if you have enjoyed playing Rocket League and FIFA online, or even chatting with your friends on Discord…that’s us. In 2019, we joined the Ubisoft family and have since continued to expand our physical infrastructure, and the software to serve it. With a growing team of over 130 colleagues, we are on the road to reach 1 billion players.

The role

We are looking for a Product Owner to help us expand our suite of services and participate in strengthening a full game-hosting ecosystem: a self-service platform where game studios of all sizes can seamlessly manage and combine their core hosting needs (bare metal and cloud computing) with other products such as our clever orchestrator, anti-cheat solution, smart game patching methods and many more to come.

In this role, you are part of the Product Team that drives the vision for our platform and are responsible for focusing our developers on delivering the state-of-the-art software that makes our company the ideal partner for successful online game releases. You do this by interfacing with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to capture our clients’ requirements and translate them into working software. You work closely with the Product Managers to understand the company’s roadmap and convey the product vision to the developers. As part of an agile team, you gather requests, coordinate sprints, schedule releases, prioritize stories and own the backlog and associated processes. You coordinate between various key players (Development, Support, Product,  …) and report to ensure visibility and alignment across teams.

About you

You are a keen learner: fascinated by all things internet and eager to find out how to deliver the best online experience to our players with your developers, picking apart and improving the many systems underlying our platform. You are an amicable translator between our many specialized teams and end users, able to extract, digest, and reexplain information to technical and non-technical colleagues alike. You act as a sword and a shield for the development team, ready to listen to your stakeholders’ and team’s needs, but also negotiate and make the right judgment call to deliver your projects. There’s a bit of a reporter in you: always investigating future stories before broadcasting them to everyone. Ideally, you live and breathe games, having enjoyed your own live titles with your friends, and are excited to bring them the next best online experience.

Work environment

At i3D.net we offer a humansized working environment with the perks of being part of an industry giant. You will join a young, talented, diverse, and ambitious Product Department, which plays a critical role in our organization by driving its pioneering strategy. With this freedom comes responsibility and a few challenges: since we all rely on each others expertise, we favor people with an independent and entrepreneurial mindset. We expect you to foster excellent relationships with a variety of passionate colleagues: software engineers, product managers, infrastructure, network, sales and marketing teams. You will need all your curiosity and wits to build our technically complex systems, user friendly products and cutting-edge internet technology. And most importantly, your drive will have a direct effect on the release of the biggest game titles in the industry.

What we do

Low latency is our mission! In 2002 we set out to improve online experiences for gamers. Today, we translate our hosting innovations to various industries, but gaming is still in our DNA. And as of 2019, we are part of the Ubisoft family! We build out our network presence in data centers across the globe – from Moscow to Mumbai, Amsterdam to Seattle, and everything in between – bringing content closer to the users.

Our team works hard on everything related to running our privately owned premium network, from opening new points-of-presence, setting up peering relationships, developing integral products like anti-DDoS protection, and serving our customers with expert help and advice. Finally, we play even harder, in our office gym and bar, and with our lifetime access to Ubisoft games.
