Back-End Developer – Bare Metal Cloud

Do you have what it takes to develop software that will serve 1 billion users by 2025? Do you want to play a fundamental role in the success of AAA games? We are looking for highly qualified developers to help us bring our infrastructure automation to the next level.

About the Job

Who we are

i3D.net is a leading provider of high-performance, low-latency hosting through a vast, privately-owned global network. As gaming veterans, we know what it takes for a network to withstand heavy demand, and as of 2019, we are a member of the Ubisoft family. Now we’re growing faster than ever, keeping some of the world’s biggest games and WebRTC services online, and their users connected.

The role

As a fast-growing Game Hosting company, we are growing our Agile Development teams with Back-end PHP developers on medior and senior level. Our Bare Metal Cloud is infrastructure automation to the max, allowing Bare Metal server delivery within 15 minutes after the order with a rental period of 1 hour. Read more on Bare Metal Cloud.

Our main challenges are:

  • Making sure gamers all over the world can play their most favorite games without any interruptions. This requires high availability and reliability of our automated server infrastructure.
  • Building advanced server delivery automation to deliver any server to any worldwide location within 15 minutes after receiving an order.
  • Continuously improving inventory health by building software for automatic validation. Faults are displayed on a ‘inventory-to-fix’ overview for our InfraOps team.
  • Collaborating with the InfraOps team to prep software for new operating systems or types of hardware and deploying new locations.

Together with the rest of the development team and the Product Owner, you define the technical solutions to these challenges. We believe the hosting solution holds the key to success of server deliveries and we rely on our developers to make sure we offer a stable and reliable platform. As a software developer at i3D.net you can truly make a difference in the success of AAA games.

About you

Our Agile Development teams are self-organizing. So, you are not only a highly skilled technical person, but also a team player with good communication and coordination skills. You know all about the Agile mindset and enjoy taking responsibility. We are continuously looking for ways to improve and therefore expect you take the initiative to do so.

What we do

Low latency is our mission! In 2002 we set out to improve online experiences for gamers. Today, we translate our hosting innovations to various industries, but gaming is still in our DNA. And as of 2019, we are part of the Ubisoft family! We build out our network presence in data centers across the globe – from Moscow to Mumbai, Amsterdam to Seattle, and everything in between – bringing content closer to the users.

Our team works hard on everything related to running our privately owned premium network, from opening new points-of-presence, setting up peering relationships, developing integral products like anti-DDoS protection, and serving our customers with expert help and advice. Finally, we play even harder, in our office gym and bar, and with our lifetime access to Ubisoft games.
