Infrastructure Management Team Lead

As the Infrastructure Management Team Lead at i3D.net, you are responsible for the daily operations of our Infrastructure Management team. You coordinate, lead, build and optimize the work within the department. You are responsible for the effective management of our infrastructure.

About the Job

Who we are
i3D.net is a leading provider of high-performance, low-latency hosting through a vast, privately-owned global network. As game sector veterans, we know what it takes for a network to withstand heavy demands, and as of 2019, we are a member of the Ubisoft family. Now we’re growing faster than ever, keeping some of the world’s biggest games and WebRTC services online and their users connected.
The role
You lead the Infrastructure Management group within Operations at i3D.net. Starting from the strategy of i3D.net, you formulate short- and long-term goals and ensure a smooth daily operation. You manage both network and system engineers and coach them to achieve organizational and personal goals. You can serve as a sounding board for many technical problems and ask the right questions. The continuity of the online infrastructure has the highest priority. As the Team Lead, you have many different responsibilities; planning, improvising, and keeping an overview are skills you need every day.
About you
At i3D.net, who you are is just as important as what you can do. You are pragmatic with an entrepreneurial spirit. The world of IT infrastructure has no secrets for you, and you have several years of leadership experience. You can be your own boss and enjoy the opportunity to structure your days and work with many different people within the organization. You can identify areas of improvement, and you know how to implement them. Being structured is what you love most, but you must improvise when plans don’t unfold as they should. Most importantly, you are a team player who can hold your own in a fast-paced but fun work environment.
Work environment
The Infrastructure Team Lead reports to our VP of Engineering and manages approx. 10 Network and System Engineers. Working during the pandemic is a challenge, but we are proud to say that we have successfully met that challenge. We can work together, bond, and settle down despite the distance. You will have the freedom to structure your days, working hours, and environment. If you feel safer working from home, you can use our budget to equip your home office. You can also use our office in Rotterdam, including the fully equipped gym, kitchen, and game room (subject to social distance measures, of course).

What we do

Low latency is our mission! In 2002 we set out to improve online experiences for gamers. Today, we translate our hosting innovations to various industries, but gaming is still in our DNA. And as of 2019, we are part of the Ubisoft family! We build out our network presence in data centers across the globe – from Moscow to Mumbai, Amsterdam to Seattle, and everything in between – bringing content closer to the users.

Our team works hard on everything related to running our privately owned premium network, from opening new points-of-presence, setting up peering relationships, developing integral products like anti-DDoS protection, and serving our customers with expert help and advice. Finally, we play even harder, in our office gym and bar, and with our lifetime access to Ubisoft games.
