i3D.net, one of the leading providers of game hosting and infrastructure services, is announcing today that it will double down on its focus on developers by phasing out its community game & voice servers for consumers. By increasing its efforts towards offering developers the best possible tools to host games and applications of any size on its global low latency platform, i3D.net is moving into an exciting new chapter of its history.

Over the course of nearly 20 years, i3D.net has enabled millions of gamers all around the world to play their favorite games together with their friends on our community servers. Today, i3D.net is announcing that they will be closing that chapter of its history as it doubles down on its dedication to providing game developers, studios and publishers of all sizes with the tools they need to excel.

More and more applications are moving to a centralized server hosting model and therefore i3D.net needs to move with the industry to ensure they can continue their mission to bring low latency connectivity to users all over the globe.

A result of that refocus is that i3D.net will be phasing out community game & voice servers for consumers over the next 6 months. i3D.net’s intention is to shut down their last community game & voice servers for consumers by the end of October 2022.

i3D.net will continue to support online communities, especially the gaming community, by focusing their efforts to provide developers with all the tools they need to give i3D.net’s users amazing online experiences wherever they are in the world.

The i3D.net network will continue to power some of the biggest AAA games and communications platforms in the business and is therefore confident that its users will find a new home on its global low latency infrastructure.

Besides working closely with some of the world’s most influential game studios and publishers, i3D.net is reaffirming its commitment to the indie game development community with its revamped Indie Developer Program by offering credit, assistance, and consultancy to eligible developers.

i3D.net intends to continue supporting online communities in the best way it can and believes opening this new chapter in its history will enable them to continue doing this for many years to come. This step is one of many for i3D.net in its mission to bring low latency connectivity to as many users around the world as it can.
