As of this week, our network engineers have established a new Level(3) IP transit connection in Australia. We benchmarked our network addition thoroughly and everything is running better than anticipated. Within Australia’s borders, the biggest benefits are extra redundancy in our network and higher network capacity. The major latency-improvements are noticeable for users from South-East Asia. The new IP transit connection provides i3D.net with a route towards Tokyo via Perth, Jakarta, Singapore, Malaysia, Bangkok, Manila, Hanoi, Taipei, Hong Kong and Seoul. This new route gives our customers in that region latency improvements of 100ms to 200ms; numbers that are most likely to increase in the near-future.
